The Manila Business College Foundation was a lifelong dream of Dr. Thomas C.K Chua, and now came to a reality. An educator and philanthropist, Dr. Chua envisioned a nation of entrepreneurs and suppliers, as compared to the usual view of Filipinos being merely customers and consumers. The founder of the college is a holder of a Ph.D. degree in Business Management who came to the Philippines in 1970 to set up several business establishments with the purpose of helping develop the Philippine economy. With his long stay in the Philippines, he found out that he could help young Filipino students more by establishing a business school. He wants to help young Filipinos acquire an adequate knowledge and skills in business management and become successful entrepreneurs who will be experts in managing their own business.
With this, he consulted a group of experts and, together, they organized the Board of Trustees with the founder as the Honorary Chairman and put up a foundation dedicated in shaping the hearts and minds of Filipinos to become much more than they are − successful businessmen with the knowledge and skills to excel in their chosen fields. Thus, Manila Business College was born, duly registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on September 15, 2000 under SEC Reg. No. A200012891.
With the Executive Committee organized, and Dr. Chua occupying the position of Chairman of the Board, MBC invited Dr. Pedro G. Villaflores, a former Director of CHED, to become its first College President. Together, with the help of the Board, faculty, and the staff, they have paved the way to slowly but surely improve the quality of education that the College can provide, producing quality entrepreneurs along the way, and expanding the curriculum to meet and adapt to the changing times and trends.
Today, Manila Business College commits Dr. Thomas Chua's original beliefs that quality education is necessary to develop responsible and innovative individuals to be responsive to change, and to be dedicated to the progress and development of the social and economic conditions of the country.

Possible Upgrading or Downgrading of Scholarship
Even if a student is admitted as a Freshmen Scholar in the MBC Unlimited Scholarship Program (with 100% Free Tuition Fee), his or her scholarship may be upgraded to the Chairman's Scholarship if he or she attains a CGPA of 1.50 in one (1) year of continuous stay at MBC. On the other hand, if a student is admitted as a Chairman's Scholar, but he or she is unable to maintain the required GPA; his or her scholarship will be downgraded or even revoked.
Submission of false and fraudulent information and documents shall subject the student to outright disqualification and expulsion from this program and possible criminal prosecution.

Through the years, the number of out of school youth has rapidly increased and our government with its limited resources is unable to completely address this problem. MBC with its mission in uplifting the Filipino youth through quality education has formulated this new program to provide an opportunity for the youth to finish their college degrees in a private school at an affordable cost.

1Coinciding with its 16 th founding anniversary, Manila Business College (MBC) formally held its first sportsfest last September 17 to September 24, 2016. Split into four teams: Green, Red, Yellow, and Blue, divided into 16 male and female events, and spread across five days, the sportsfest started with an opening ceremony held at the RASAC covered court on September 17, 2016.
July 8, 2016 – Despite the pouring rain, even Mother Nature could not postpone the 6th Commencement Exercises of Manila Business College (MBC) held at the Star Theater in Pasay City. School administrators, faculty, and staff, excited graduates, and proud parents and family members graced the jam-packed venue; a significant moment and milestone for the 192 MBC graduates.
Manila Business College (MBC) graduate Angiela Mae Deligero, and current students Jeannie Malenab and Abegael Ramos came from different backgrounds and took different paths to where they are now. Angiela, 29, stopped her college education from a different school as her family ran into financial problems; forcing her to sacrifice her studies to become the family’s breadwinner.
