Future Leaders in the Making

“A good leader inspires people to have confidence in the leader, a great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves”

Manila Business College and the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) share the same mission, to act as agents of change.  The GBF China Scholarship Program-Batch Yin Yang Pandas organized a youth development program with the theme, “The Making of IGLOOS: Inspiring Global Leaders of our Society.” It was held at GBF Technical Training Center Auditorium last December 12, 2009.

It was a whole day activity. Several renown resource speakers and youth leaders were invited.

Mr. Joseph Anthony Quesada inspires youth leaders with his five (5) concepts of Leadership. 1.) YOU have to own leadership 2.) Leadership is about helping other people grow 3.) A leader is also served as Social Entrepreneurs. Ms. Jonah de Lumen says that a leader recognizes social problem in the community and uses entrepreneurial principles to organize, create and manage a venture to make social changes and greater impact.

Mr. Bryan Albert Lim also said that a leader should also be concerned about the health of the nation that “Health is not only in the realm of Medicine.

In the afternoon, it was instilled in the participants that Personality, Effective Communication & Team Work is very important. This completes a good and effective leader.  The workshop are: Know your adjective!, Fair Square, and Serendipity Race. From this workshop, the spirit of leadership among students comes out.
